Thanks for joining me!
The hero archetype has been known throughout history, and their story follows the hero’s journey. It is the cycle of being sent out on an adventure, encountering troubles and challenges, reaching a final symbolic death and rebirth, and finally returning to their former environment with new found knowledge and understanding. We see this countless times in stories, in mythology, and in religion. Today it is my turn.
Good company in a journey makes the way seem shorter. — Izaak Walton

I am Kathleen a mother of 3 now very grown up children and a grandmother to 4 young grandchildren.
I was born in Saltwell/Bensham in a part of Gateshead, Tyne and Wear, England, United Kingdom. My childhood was in the fifties and my first published book a local history book is titled Memories of Gateshead. It is published through www.summerhillbooks.co.uk
I left school at 15 with no qualifications…because that’s how it was back then unless I had gone to a grammar school to obtain GCE qualifications. This was a thorn in my side all of my life and in my 40s I went to university to gain not only one degree in Batchelor of Science but also a first class honours degree in Batchelor of Arts. I went on in my late 40s to become a secondary school teacher of Information Communications Technology (ICT).
My career before this point began as a junior in a cash office of a department store. Next I worked in an accounts department in a bakery…bearing in mind no computers to speak of at this point. Eventually I began to work with computers…big ones that filled a room. I seemed to progress within the technology world learning my computer, PC, laptop small devices skills over the years.
Once I retired from the world of work spirituality, family history and writing became my passions.
Following a health crisis I wrote Living Life in Ruby Slippers my second book a novelette about my health challenge and how I overcame them but resulting in becoming visually impaired – partial sighted. This is a self - published memoir on Amazon both a Kindle e – book and also a paperback. www.amazon.co.uk/dp/
My oldest grandchild Tyler now 10 years of age one day said “grandma can we write a story?” of course I said yes. Together we created Magic Mat, Cousins Adventure in Nosirrah. Also self – published as a Kindle e-book and paperback. www.amazon.co.uk/dp/
This first book is a story about 4 cousins who are taken from where they live in Tarbotts to a place called Nosirrah. It is a children’s story for 6 to 8 year olds.
As you can see readers I have tried 3 genres of writing all very interesting for me.
Never give up on your dreams and as my husband would say “If you’re going to dream…dream big.”
You can do anything you put your mind to
and your energy behind it.
